A Child of Six

A CHILD OF SIX

Oh, to blink away the moonlit night,
The sun-bathed day just one more time.

I was a child of six
When standing on my gardenpath
All time stood still;
And of a sudden, moment and unmoment
Became one.

All was so simple, crystal -clear and bright.
My body and the world were gone.
All fear was gone
For there was only the white light:
The one unbroken spectrum true,
Which holds all worlds,
Holds me and you,
Which waits, if we wait patiently,
And do not veer from center, from the middle way,
Which waits for us
With feelings so intense so sure
That all is clarity and whole and pure;
And in that state no questions can remain.
For all is understood
and, oh, so sane.
