I SEE
A TIMELESS MOUNTAIN
among myriads of gestures
of timeless times and soundless sound
on a vast plain.
I see its whiteness gleaming under seething suns,
fading under moons,
windswept,
bare.
I see mountain lions, eagles, a mountain climber.
I see the very top of time,
the ever present NOW.
Yet all the yesterdays are there
within innumerable layers of rocky sediments
existing now as ever.
Their outcroppings: footholds
for the mountain climber,
their crevices
covered with now’s fertile ground,
filled with seeds for all tomorrows.
So also are our past and future embedded in our cells.
With our beliefs and thoughts, true instruments of medicine,
we change their very nature.
We change both past and future from the now.
As consciousness fulfills itself, knowing itself,
so shall it move that mountain
if it so desires.
I see that steady rock
though seemingly unmoving,
in steady motion:
visible at once in blinding sunness
shrouded in secrecy,
fog-woven, painted purple blue,
ever underneath creations’s covered canvas,
unfinished, perfect, eternally becoming:
happening,
As you and I and All That Is
within this rocking world
of spirit and of matter,
this cherished,
very private,
amazing
