WORDS

Without ink not a single word can be read
Though the light shines on writer and pen.
But traces are left on the paper
To be read by the writer when
He’s in the same mood and frame of mind
As he was when he etched those words.
They may have been words of wisdom
Or may strictly have been for the birds.
